Let Us Give Thanks – To the Tea Party
And so…the United States of America, proud and powerful – a symbol of hope and freedom around the world – has been downgraded. By Standard and Poors, sure; but it could be argued that we were truly downgraded on November 2, 2010. A day that will live in infamy? Absolutely. That was the day the Tea Party officially swept into power. (Sure they’re just a fraction of the GOP majority in one chamber of Congress – but witness what they’ve wrought.)
While I am on record with some very stern opinions about S&P’s role in the financial meltdown and I do seriously question their motives in this farce of a downgrade, this post isn’t about S&P. This post is about the Tea Party – and how very much for which we have to thank them.
Thank you, Tea Party! Thank you for saving America!
